Aluin wordt niet inwendig gebruikt.
Martindale geeft volgende informatie mee: “Alum precipitates proteins and is a powerful astringent. It is often included in preparations used as mouthwashes or gargles and in dermatological preparations.
Alum, either as a solid or as a solution, may be used as a haemostatic.
Intravesical instillation of alum, typically as a 1% solution,
has been used as a treatment for haemorrhagic cystitis.”
